Description/Comments:

Project-based Section 8 permanent housing.  Sobriety must be for 90 days.  After approved by landlord, client is to call Mr. Mike Hammar at (713) 260-0874 at the City of Houston to get Mod Rehab paperwork completed.

There are five programs that take approximately 30-90 days for phases 1, 2, and 3.   It takes 6 months for phases 4 and 5.  These phases must be completed before dismissal.

Description/Comments:

Maximum stay is one year. The first 90 days is funded by TRC for eligible clients and after that client pays $82.50 per week.

Indefinite stay.  This is a home for approximately 70 children that are placed because of family problems or hardships.

Description/Comments:

Length of the program/counseling is 2 years.  After that if an individual cannot find job and/or permanent residence, they may stay for an additional half year.  There are recovery and educational programs which must be attended and job counseling for all clients.

Description/Comments:

Housing for children is the Elkin's Shelter.  Residential Programs to be referred by CPS for children ages 4-17.  Housing for women with children is the Augusta Place.

There is 24-hour staff supervision and case management available.

Application must be given by phone and applicant will be contacted after screening is completed.   Maximum stay is 12 months.

Description/Comments:

The rent for each unit is $300.00 per month with a one time deposit of $25.00.  There is 24-hour staff supervision, counseling, and education. Length of stay at facility is unlimited when rules are followed.
 

Harbor Light Center (Salvation Army)

Description/Comments:

There are 28 respite care beds and 70 beds for working men recovering from short-term illnesses.  Respite care and assisted living with five men to a room.  Medicare and Medicaid accepted.

The Tuberculosis Control Recovery Center is expanding to accept 12 men.

This is a  dormitory setting.  Twenty-five men to a room and private locker.

Call for application or emergency walk-ins are accepted. Supervised living and personal care for residents, especially adults with a serious mental illness.  Offers a psychosocial rehabilitation program for residents with mental illnesses.
