As you look for housing, look at school districts within each county.  The Houston area is in Harris County.  Katy is in both Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller countries.  Sugar Land is in Fort Bend County.  The Woodlands and Conroe are in Montgomery County.

The following are affordable apartments for seniors.  Seniors may be considered from the age of 55 years old, depending on the eligibility requirements of the property.  However, usually a senior is at least 62 years of age, and a couple is eligible, as long as one person of the couple is at least 62 years old, regardless of the age of the other partner.  Many of these apartments are affordable, yet private pay, and may not be HUD subsidized.
